Stackpole Releases Thermal Fusing Vertical Mount Wirewounds for Flat Screen Monitors, Displays, and TVs

May 11, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

Stackpole Electronics released the RWT Series – a thermal fusing ceramic housed vertical mount wirewound that is a protection component well suited for switching power supplies used in video displays. The part features a 142C one time thermal fuse for accurate and precise failsafe operation while ensuring PCB temperatures remain at safe levels. The ceramic housing ensures there will be no exposed metal or debris remaining after fusing. The RWT Series 5 size is also UL recognized under Akaneohm UL File number E255350, and CSA approved under CSA std C22.2 No. 209, file number 229946.

The RWT Series has good surge handling capability due to its all welded construction. It is well suited for use in many types of switching power supply applications, including typical power solutions for LCD displays and monitors, radios and communication devices, and could be used for small motor control protection in appliances, and in automotive applications.

The RWT Series adds to Stackpole’s growing product offering of agency-approved resistors. The SP3A Series, RWT Series and SPR Series are all UL qualified. In addition the RWT Series and SPR Series are CSA qualified. This allows design engineers to accelerate their products through the UL qualification process and shorten their time to market.

The RWT Series is available in bulk packaging in quantities that vary depending on size and range from 800 pcs to 1500 pcs. Pricing for the RWT in full bulk package quantities depends on size and ranges from $0.30 to $0.36 each.
