Snaptec Introduces New Waterproof AC-DC Power Supplies

Snaptec introduced new dc power supplies that are designed up to a IP67 rating. Rated at 100W, the CLG100 series comes with active power factor correction. The GLC100 are high grade industrial power supplies designed to comply with CE, TUV and UL 1310 class 2. The GLC100 is designed with safety in mind so that it can be used in outdoor applications such as LED electronic signal lighting. The high IP rating means that the electronics in the unit is fully protected against dust and moisture, which makes them suitable for use in either indoor or outdoor settings.

The CLG100 series is totally waterproof and can even be immersed in water up to 1 meter. The efficiency of the CLG100 is as high as 87% and hence can operate between-30 ~ +70°C without any fan (just free air, convection cooling). Standard functions include short circuit, overload, over voltage, and over temperature protections. The power supply comes equipped with two 18AWG power cables as the connection points of both input and output.

The CLG100 is fully enclosed and resin potted and is targeted at a market of harsh operating conditions. The GLC100 uses an aluminum case as the enclosure to enhance the mechanical strength. Typical applications for this new Class 2 power unit include: general outdoor use, moving signs, LED-based decorative/architectural back lighting, LED stage/theatre lighting, and LED electronic displays.
