SL Power Launches 40W PoE Gigabit Injector For 10/100/1000baseT Data Rates

SL Power Electronics announced additions to its range of high power injectors and Gigabit injectors for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), Gigabit-compatible applications (10/100/1000 MbPS data rates) with power up to 40W. The Ault PENT1040A/B/C/D family, provides power to devices through RJ45 jacks and high-speed data transfer over a single Ethernet cable.

Like other Ault brand PoE products, the PENT1040 is said to control costs and save time for OEMs because it eliminates the need for expensive electrical contractors, scheduling and compliance with local code standards.

According to the company, PoE technology has become increasingly popular for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony, network security cameras, WLAN access points and security access control systems. As devices within these market segments become more feature-rich and need to reside outdoors, higher power – 40W and beyond – is required.

"Our goal with our Power over Ethernet line is a simple one – to provide a full range of standard solutions with a complete range of options so our customers can tailor the PoE solution to meet their unique requirements and branding," explained Greg Harris, VP of Sales for SL Power.

AC input voltage range for the entire family is 100 to 250Vac and a load diagnostic LED indicates whether the injector is active. The PENT1040 family features a non-vented desktop style and complies with EMI/RFI regulations, is CE compliant, and meets safety approvals for OEMs to support customers worldwide. Of the four models in the family, two are compliant with the pre-IEEE802.3at standard (PENT1040B and PENT1040D). A load diagnostic LED whether the injector is active.

PENT1040 units are available immediately from $14.70 in OEM quantities of 1,000 units (pricing is model dependent).
