SL Power Introduces New 15W External Power Supply Family
SL Power Electronics Corp. announced a new family of 15W external switch-mode power supplies. Well-suited for telecommunications, broadband and computer peripheral applications, the Ault PW170 series has a single output with a power range of 6 to 15W in nine voltage models. The product family meets the requirements set by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program.
"The Ault PW170 is available for OEMs who need a low cost, highly energy-efficient product," said Greg Harris, Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, SL Power Electronics. "This new desktop and wall-style series helps OEMs meet the increasing demand for power supplies to be more efficient and versatile."
As an Energy Star partner, SL Power Electronics launched the specification for Energy Star-qualified external power adapters in January 2005 to address the growing energy consumption by a proliferation of consumer and office electronic products requiring power adapters. To help reduce OEM product design-to-production cycle time, the CE-compliant PW170 meets UL60950-1, IEC/EN60950-1 and EMC EN55022/55024.61000.
All Ault PW170 models have regulated output with low ripple and are available in desktop or wall plug-in styles. The wall plug-in styles have an optional interchangeable blade kit that is sold separately. The kit (product KT1027K) includes European, United Kingdom and Australian blades and is priced at US$2.03 in OEM 1,000-piece quantity.
The Ault PW170 series is said to be a low-cost option for OEMs in the data communications, telecommunications or ITE markets. Competitively priced at US$7.08 in OEM 1,000-piece quantity, the Ault PW170 is said to give users added versatility because it is available in 3.3-, 5-, 6-, 9-, 12-, 15-, 18-, 24- and 48V models. SL Power Electronics offers modified and custom designs to meet specific OEM requirements and private label marking. This product family also is available for medical applications as the Ault MW170.
