Siliconix Releases New Series of Little Foot MOSFETs

May 16, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Siliconix (Santa Clara, CA) released a new series of Little Foot MOSFETs aimed at isolated dc/dc converters powered by a 24V or 48V bus. Intended for use in telecommunications, high-voltage computer and server, and automotive products, the seven new n-channel devices are offered in breakdown voltages ranging from 60V to 200V.

The Vishay Siliconix Si4850EY (60V), Si4896 (80V), Si4484EY (100V), Si4848 (150V), and Si4490DY (200V) are designed for use on the primary side of dc/dc converters requiring higher frequencies or lower switching losses. They feature typical gate charge ratings from 18nC to 34nC in combination with on-resistance values ranging from 16.5mW to 100mW at a 10V gate drive.

Optimized for applications that require minimized conduction losses, the Si4486EY (100V) and Si4488DY (150V) respectively lower on-resistance to 25mohms and 50mohms at a 10V gate drive, with gate charge values of 36nC and 30nC, respectively.

Samples and production quantities of the new Little Foot SO-8 devices are available now, with lead times of eight to 10 weeks for larger orders.
