December 10, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Seiko Instruments Inc. (Torrance, CA) introduced its new S-8940xA Series of CMOS mini-analog, single, wide-band operation amplifiers, in a SOT-23 package for compact, battery-powered devices such as cell phones, PDAs, electronic notebooks and digital cameras.

The S-89400A and S-89401A Series feature a 2MHz gain-bandwidth product underscored by a 5V/s slew rate, a 750A quiescent current, a low operating voltage of 1.2V to 5.5V and a nominal current consumption of 0.1A in shutdown mode. Input offset voltage is available down to 10mV with the S-89400A, and down to mV with the S-89401A. The S-89402A and S-89403A Series has a 10MHz gain-bandwidth product with a 5V/s slew rate and a quiescent current of 1.9A at 3.0V.

The S-8940xA Series is priced from $0.35 to $0.39 in quantities of 10,000, depending on part specification.
