Sealed Unmated Power Jacks handle 13A

Switchcraft announced the newest addition to their already extensive line of power jacks, the Sealed when unmated high-amperage power jack. New sealed versions of this jack are sealed even when the jack is not mated to a sealed plug. The jack is rated to IP68, NEMA 250 6P even when not mated. Dust caps are available so that debris does not collect in the jack when not in use. The sturdy metal housing provides reliability in any setting.

Specifications include: Life, 5000 mechanical cycles minimum using S10 style plugs; Vibration, Mil-Std 202G Method 201A (jack or when mated with locking plug); Operating Forces, 3 lb maximum insertion and 0.2 lb minimum withdrawal when using S10 typle plug; Panel Mount Torque, 8-10 in/lb; Insulation Resistance, 1000 MΩ minimum initial; and Contact Resistance (Initial), 10 mΩ maximum.

Features include: Up to 13A current rating (carry) . Up to 24V ac or dc. Available in sealed only but can be used with S10 style plugs both sealed and non-sealed. Recommend plug locking versions to keep plugs connected to jack. Applications are expected to include: Any sealed data transmission; Military or industrial GPS Location devices; Instrumentation; Medical equipment; Marine Applications; Transportation; General industrial electronic applications; and Power supplies.
