Schroff Expands Switching Regulator Line with Max LR and UR Units

July 08, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Schroff UK (UK) has expanded its range of 19in ac/dc switching regulators to provide coverage of the full voltage range between 4.5V and 30V. The new Max LR unit is designed for output voltages of 4.5 to 17V, while the new Max UR module operates between 16V and 30V. The required voltage is selected on the front panel using a screwdriver. The devices are suitable for use in industry and telecommunications applications.

Schroff reports that the new power supplies can deliver an output power of up to 100W in a module 6HP wide. They are suitable for both redundant and hot-swap operation. In a redundant system, the CSB guarantees equal distribution of the current from the interconnected n+1 power supplies. An integral redundancy diode isolates the individual power-supply units from the system and guarantees that a total system short-circuit does not occur if one unit is faulty.

Schroff's new switching regulators are compliant with EN 61000-3-2-A14 and have active power-factor correction.
