Schaffner EMC Releases FN 7000 Series of Capacitors and Filters

June 06, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Schaffner EMC Inc. (Edison, NJ) has released the FN 7000 Series of feed-through capacitors and filters designed to combat conducted electrical interference both into and out of electronic components. The new series is suitable for high-frequency applications that require clean power and data lines, such as automation, data-handling and communications technologies.

The FN 7000 Series of capacitors are constructed with self-healing metallized plastic film encapsulated in epoxy. This allows the filter to survive impulse voltages of up to 5kV without degradation. All feed-through capacitors and filters in the series meet EN132400 and EN133200 European standards. The line has an ambient temperature range spanning from -40 to 60 degrees C. Additionally, the feed-through capacitors are constructed without soldering.

Pricing for the FN 7000 Series filter starts at approximately $25 each in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is eight weeks ARO.
