Saft Announces DC-DC Converters for ADSL Application
Saft Power Systems announced the extension of its dc converter family by introducing a range of new dc-dc converters for ADSL subscriber line-card application. This new range of isolated dc-dc converters provides 5 outputs from a nominal -48V input (-36 to -75V), and delivers up to 100W over a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C, without power derating.
The initial version provides 5 outputs to meet the needs of many typical DSL line-card applications: - 3.3V, 5.7A - 3.3V, 1A - 2.5V, 4.6A - 1.25V, 11.5A - 20V, 2.5A adjustable.
All outputs have very low ripple and noise (30 to 100mV), to meet ADSL specifications. Due to the large number of subscriber line-cards in typical access equipment, the power losses on each card are very critical. For this reason the converter is designed to achieve better than 85% efficiency, even under worst-case conditions. This product is also designed to simplify modification, allowing different output voltages and/or currents to be provided to meet custom requirements.
