ROAL Launches New Series Of AC-DC Power Supplies With IEC601 Medical Approvals

ROAL Electronics USA, Inc. launched the MFA160 series – described as the first in a series of "revolutionary" high efficiency, small form factor ac-dc power supplies with IEC601 medical approvals.

The MFA160 series is a 160W open frame ac-dc power supply in a 2 x 4 x 1.06" (51 x 102 x 27mm) industry standard package conforming to IEC601 medical safety standards. The MFA160 is available in four different high power output voltages at 5, 12, 24 or 48V and is equipped with an auxiliary low power 12V output, which can be used as the supply voltage for an external fan.

By combining IEC601 medical safety certification and a high efficiency, >90% design, the ROAL MFA160 enables designers of medical and dental electronic equipment to embed a high power 160W ac-dc device into the end system. The device offers high efficiency >90%, conducted noise compliance to level B and a low leakage current of 250µA. It is suited to a variety of end user applications in medical devices, dental electronics and laboratory equipment.

The MFA160 is priced at $89.50 in volumes of 100 pieces.
