Protek Power Announces Ultra-Compact 150W Medical Desktop Switcher

Protek Power North America announced the PMP150 series of medically approved desktop ac-dc power supplies, which pack 150W of power into an ultra-compact 3.00 x 8.17 x 1.72" package.

The PMP150 series has active power factor correction, a 90-264Vac input, and offers single output models ranging from 12 up to 48Vdc. Input to output isolation is 4000Vac and leakage current is specified at 90µA for the115Vac input. Standby power consumption is less than 1W and units are compliant with CEC and Level IV Energy Star Requirements.

Conversion efficiencies are up to 90% depending on output voltage, allowing for operation without an internal cooling fan, thus ensuring what is described as quiet and reliable operation. Operating temperature is 0 to 60°C, with derating above 40°C. No minimum load is required while still achieving 5% regulation throughout the full load range. Ripple and noise is 2%. Comprehensive overvoltage and overcurrent circuitry is employed to protect the end equipment and the power supply.

Units comply with the latest RoHS directives and are approved to EN60601-1 standards. EMI performance is superior, meeting Class B for both radiated and conducted emissions.
