Power-One Debuts the CPD200-4530 Power Supply

July 29, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Power-One (Camarillo, CA) announced a new 200W, four-output power supply. The CPD200-4530 provides up to 40A of 5V or 3.3V in a CompactPCI-compatible package. Two additional outputs provide 12V at 5.5A and -12V at 1.5A.

The CPD200-4530 operates over an input range of 36Vdc to 75Vdc. It is over 80 percent efficient and has several standard features designed for hot-swap-redundant applications. Front-panel-mounted LEDs provide visual input and output voltage status. The chassis, which is 3U high and 8HP wide, incorporates a 47-pin Positronic connector. The 5V, 3.3V and 12V outputs have remote-sense and current-sharing capabilities. All four outputs have the FET equivalents of diode O-Rings.

Internal protections include over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature. Interface signals include inhibit, power-fail and temperature warnings. The CPD200-4530 operates from 0 to 50 degrees C with 250LFM of air, and can operate at up to 70 degrees C without derating. The power supply is recognized by UL/cUL60950 and TUV licensed to EN60950. It carries the CE marking for the low-voltage directive 89/23EEC and meets FCC and EN55022 Class A conducted EMI requirements.

Pricing for the CPD200-4530 is $290 in quantities above 250. Production quantities are currently available from stock to six to eight weeks. Power-factor-corrected, ac-input versions are planned to be available soon.
