Power-One Debuts NHC3000 Series AC/DC Front Ends

Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) introduced the NHC3000 Series of ac/dc 3U-high front ends, which provide up to 3,000W of 24Vdc or 48Vdc from an input range of 180Vac to 264Vac. Full power is provided up to 50°C with derating to 60 percent of power at 70°C. A mean time between failure in excess of 700,000 hours makes the products suitable for applications where a highly-reliable bulk power supply is required.

The distributed power architecture (DPA) compatible front ends feature no minimum load operation, active current sharing, EN61000-3-2 compliant power-factor correction and LED output-current monitor indicators. Interface signals include input power fail warning, remote sense, remote on/off, remote voltage adjust, output good and current monitoring. Protection features include over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature. The products provide a power density of approximately 10W/in³ from 5in x 5in x 12.25in (127mm x 127mm x 311mm) overall package sizes. Input connections are via terminal block and copper bus bar blades, with tapped screw holes, which provide output connections. Hot-swappable versions are available as the NHS3000 Series.

Pricing for the NHC3011-5 (24V) or NHC3021-8 (48V) is $1,500 each in quantities of 10 to 24. Evaluation units are usually available in six to eight weeks. Production quantities are typically available in 8 to 10 weeks.
