Power Integrations Intros DAK-33 Design Kit

Power Integrations Inc. (San Jose, CA), a leader in power conversion semiconductor technology, announced the availability of its new DAK-33, a design accelerator kit for LCD monitor and television applications, which provides a reference design to both reduce energy waste and speed design time for ac/dc flyback power supplies using the company’s EcoSmart technology and its TOPSwitch®-GX high-voltage, power-conversion ICs.

The DAK-33 kit contains a tested, energy-efficient, 45W power supply adapter; PI Expert™ design software; TOPSwitch-GX samples; and extensive design collateral. In standby mode, the 12V, 3.75A adapter draws less than 1W of input power at 230Vac while supplying 0.5W to its load. The design operates over a wide input-voltage range of 90Vac to 265Vac with greater than 83% efficiency at full power. Additional applications include computer peripherals, home appliances and other medium-power applications requiring output power of up to 45W.

The DAK-33 is priced at $45.95 and is available now. In addition, for lower-power applications, the DAK-34 is now available, which contains a 30W (12V, 2.5A) power supply, operating over a universal input-voltage range (85Vac to 265Vac) with greater than 80% efficiency. It is priced at $31.95 and is also available from factory stock.
