Phihong Presents PSS100 Open-Frame Power Supply

Phihong (Fremont, CA) introduced its PSS100 open-frame, single-output, L-bracket power supply, which is the lowest useable profile in the industry, according to the company. The new supply is suitable for use in networking systems, low-profile racks, telephony equipment and gaming machines.

The new PSS100 power supply features a compact size, a high power density at 100W output, a 15.3cu-in footprint, an efficiency ranging from 75 to 84 percent, 90Vac to 264Vac and 47Hz to 63Hz input, <0.5mA at 254Vac leakage current, a hold-up time of 16mS at 115Vac and 64mS at 230Vac, overload protection with 125-percent over-range foldback, and self-recovering and protection features against short circuits.

The unit meets FCC Class B and EN55022B conducted noise limits. Safety approvals include UL1950 Class I, EN60950, cUL, Semko and CE (LVD). The PSS100 power supply measures 15.3cu-in and weighs 139g. Pricing is $68.37 per 100 units and samples are available immediately. Production lead times are 8 to 10 weeks.
