Parker Life Sciences Unveils OEM150 Microstepping Driver

April 19, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

The Life Sciences division of Parker Hannifin Corp. (Cleveland, OH) unveiled its new OEM150 miniature microstepping driver, which provides current control suitable for NEMA 11, 14 and 17 motors. The OEM150 driver is optimized for efficient current control of small stepper motors. The driver's small size (2.4 in x 1.9 in x 0.8 in) makes it well suited for OEM motion applications in the life science and medical instrumentation markets.

Operating on 12 Vdc to 24 Vdc, the OEM150 bipolar drive has selectable resolutions to 1,600 steps/rev and offers "real-world" protection against potentially harmful thermal effects through features, including auto-current reduction, thermal shutdown, optically isolated step and direction, and enable/disable inputs.

Customers can combine an OEM150 driver with other Parker motion products, such as the Parker LV Series step motors and OEM010 controllers, to form complete motion control systems for use in liquid handling systems, robotic handling applications and other analytical instruments.
