ON Semi Presents New NCP1012/13 Power Supplies

August 05, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

ON Semiconductor Corp. (Phoenix, AZ) introduced four new offline power supply switching regulators, each with an integrated 700V power switch and a unique set of performance features, which offer designers a complete and affordable control solution for rugged power supplies in digital cameras, digital video recorders and players, battery chargers, wall adapters, white goods, industrial equipment, consumer electronics, auxiliary units, and LED displays.

The new NCP1012 and NCP1013 devices are monolithic, switching regulators for low standby-power, off-line, switch-mode power supplies. With programmed current limits of 250mA and 350mA, respectively, the devices enable designers to select from several preset limits to meet their applications' needs. Both devices are available with fixed switching frequencies of 100kHz or 133kHz. To improve overall power supply reliability, the devices feature a true soft-start capability that prevents power component damage from excess heating and overstress at power-up.

The NCP1012 and NCP1013 are offered in the space-saving, PDIP, seven-lead package to accommodate high-voltage, pin-to-pin, creepage requirements. The power supplies are priced at $0.55 per unit in 10,000-unit quantities.
