North American Battery Company Introduces New Technology Batteries

November 29, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

North American Battery Corp. (NABC), a subsidiary of Uniross Battery Corp., announced the general availability of its HYBRIO new technology batteries, which the company claims represents the next generation in portable power and battery technology innovation. The HYBRIO line is marketed under the NABC brand, "UltraLast."

HYBRIO is an advanced technology battery, available in AA and AAA sizes, combining the best features of both disposable and rechargeable batteries. Like disposables, HYBRIO batteries are ready-to-use immediately out of the package – unlike traditional rechargeable batteries which need to be charged before the first use. However, unlike disposables, HYBRIO batteries can be recharged up to 500 times, integrating for the first time the money saving benefits of rechargeable batteries with the immediate use benefits of disposables. HYBRIO also boasts improved and prolonged shelf life, retaining up to 85% capacity after one year, even if the battery is unused.

"HYBRIO is a huge leap forward in battery technology and convenience. Finally, consumers have access to the instant-power convenience of disposables combined with the benefits of rechargeable batteries," said Craig Taylor, CEO of Uniross Batteries Corp.

Suggested retail price for a AA 4-pack is $11.99, and a special HYBRIO charger kit is priced at $19.99.
