Murata Adds Three New Capacitors to the GRM Family

August 01, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Japan) announced three new, 630Vdc-rated, low-dissipation, chip monolithic ceramic capacitors. With a base-metal internal electrode, the new capacitors are part of Murata's GRM family. All three new capacitors use nickel-base metal instead of palladium.

The new capacitors use a newly developed dielectric material. Capacitance fluctuation ratio is rated at +/-30ppm per degree C. The devices are suitable for use as medium-voltage capacitors for snubber circuits used to eliminate spike noise from HF pulses generated in switching power supplies, dc/dc converters and lighting inverters.
