multiple output power supplies

New Products Nov 21, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

C&D Technologies (Tucson, AZ) recently introduced the NT301, NT350, PT400, PT401, PT500 and KT750 multiple output power supplies. These power supplies offer a 3.3V high current main output and active input Power Factor Correction (PFC). The NT301 and NT350 power supplies are 300W and 350W, respectively, while the PT400 and PT401 are 400W power supplies. The PT500 is a 500W power supply and the KT750, a 750W power supply. All of the power supplies comply with EN61000-3-2, and also accommodate a wide-input voltage range of 90-264Vac. The units have EMI compliance to FCC/VDE Class B requirements, as well as safety agency approvals from UL, CSA, TUV, and the CE mark. According to C&D, the power supplies output configurations were developed to support applications in which the circuitry has largely migrated from 5V to 3.3V. A large array of standard output configurations are available to support a wide range of needs. All outputs are fully isolated and regulated. Active current sharing is standard to simplify N+1 redundant requirements in fault-tolerant applications. Auxiliary outputs are designed to sustain high surge current demands to support fan and disk drive spin-up requirements. Standard features include Power Fail Warning (PFW), Remote Inhibit (RI), and Remote Sense (RS). Available options include active high or active low logic on the RI and PFW, as well as cover with integral fan. In quantities of 100, pricing for the NT301 and NT 350 will be from $370 each, the PT400 and PT401 from $437 each, the PT500 from $493 each, and the KT750 from $669 each.
