Mean Well Introduces New AC-DC Switching Power Supply

July 05, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Mean Well debuted the new 150W miniature ac-dc switching power supply – NES-150 series – for the most popular wattage range. Featuring the 199 x 98 x 38mm compact size, the NES-150 is 32% smaller than the company’s S-150 series. The new NES-150 is designed in Taiwan using what is claimed to be high reliability circuit topology and is made in China to keep the costs low.

The efficiency of the NES-150 series is claimed to be as high as 86% and hence it can be cooled by only free air convection. The product complies with global safety approvals per UL, CUL, TUV, and possesses the EMC characteristics of the heavy industry level. The NES-150 series can be widely used in general industrial electronic, electro-mechanical, machinery, moving sign, and instrumental applications. Other standard functions include short circuit, overload, and over voltage protections and all of the products are executed at 100% full load burn-in test during the manufacturing process.
