Mean Well Introduces New 210W/350W Enclosed Type Power Supplies
Mean Well introduced the new generation of 210 and 350W single output enclosed type power supply ~ NES-200, NES-350, SE-200, and SE-350 series to replace their existing models S-201(200W), S-210(210W), S-320(320W) and S-350(350W). With the most economical circuit design and manufacturing process using lead-contained solder, NES-200/350 series target at the regions where RoHS compliance does not required and can substitute for S-201 and S-350 which have been sold for over 11 years. Meanwhile, with upgraded components and RoHS compliance production process, SE-200 and SE-350 series can fulfill the markets (like North America and Asia) that request lead-free products. They are good choices to replace S-210 and S-320 series which have 15 years of selling history.
To make the replacement easier for existing users, these four new series are designed to cover both feature and dimension of the old models. For instance, NES/SE-200 has the same bottom case as S-201/210 (only add more venting holes on top cover to improve the working temperature) and NES/SE-350 has exactly the same enclosure as S-350/320. Therefore, these four new series have the same fan location and mounting holes as its prior generation, so that end users can easily stay at their original mechanical design without any changes. With non-PFC design for lower cost, NES-200/350 and SE-200/350 equip with the function of 300Vac input surge immunity for 5 seconds, which can reduce the damages caused by the unstable ac main. In addition, NES/SE-200 features with fan-less design, and can be operated between -20 to +50°C of ambience temperature by free air convection. NES/SE-350 equipped with long life dc fan, so that they can work up to +60°C of ambience temperature. Compared to the predecessor models, NES-200 has 3-5% higher working efficiency than S-201, while NES-350 increase by 4-9% than S-350.
As to the lower bound of operating temperature, these four new series can be started up at -20°C, superior to -10°C only for S-201/320/350. Other standard functions include protections for short circuit, overload, over voltage and over temperature, built-in constant current limiting circuit, and LED indicator for power on. All series comply with UL safety standard which ensure the worry free operation. Suitable applications include industrial automation, moving sign, electronic equipment…etc.
