Mean Well introduces 40/60W LED Power Supply with Dimming Function

February 24, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

MEAN WELL announced its 40W/60W plastic case LED power supplies with PFC and dimming function ~ LPF-40/40D and LPF-60/60D series, in order to fulfill the rapid growth of PFC requirement and dimming operation in the LED lighting market.

Built-in active PFC function, LPF-40/60 series are primary models with complete basic functions; and for LPF-40D/60D series, they equip with additional "three-in-one dimming function" which offer system designers great flexibility for designing lighting fixtures by using 1~10VDC, PWM signal, or changing resistance to achieve brightness reduction and energy saving purpose.

LPF-40(D)/60(D) series are fully potted by heat-conducted glue (IP67 structure) and enclosed by plastic case with 94V-0 fire prevention level, which allow internal shock absorption to withstand 5G vibration and provide the protection for internal electronic components against dust and moisture. In addition, they possess up to 90% of high efficiency and can work between -40 ~ +70° by only free air convection that makes the usage at harsh locations possible. Not only meet the harmonic current limitation per EN61000-3-2 Class C (≥ 60% of load), they also fulfill PF>0.9 if loading over 60% which complies with the requirements of typical lighting applications.

Meanwhile, these new models use wire-style input/output (18AWGx2C/60cm and 16AWGx2C/60cm) for flexible installations while LPF-40D/60D equip with additional control wires (22AWGx2C) for the dimming operation. Other standard functions include Class II AC input (without FG) design and protection for short circuit, over voltage, overload and over temperature. Comply with global certificates per UL8750, EN61347-2-13, and EN55015 of lighting regulations, your safety can be greatly guaranteed. Suitable applications include indoor LED lighting, LED electric display, wash-wall lighting, LED stage and theater lighting, and LED decorative lighting.
