Mean Well Announces New Series of 240W Slim DIN Rail Type Power Supplies with Wide Range Input

New Products Jan 17, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

MEAN WELL introduced a new 240W ac-dc slim DIN rail power supply featuring a wide input range for both single and two phase power systems (the WDR-240 series) to complete their WDR product line. Equipped with a 180 to 550Vac wide input range, the WDR-240 can be used in general power systems with a single phase 230Vac input or can capture any two phases from the 330~550Vac three-phase power system, which can greatly increase the flexibility of system deployment.

With up-to date high efficiency circuit design, the WDR-240 series possess up to 91% efficiency and can provide 240W continuously up to 50° by only free air convection, or operate under 70° ambient temperature by suitable power derating. The slim design of 63mm in width helps save the precious space on the rail and also makes it 43.2% smaller in size compare to its predecessor model DRT-240 (240W). Meanwhile, the WDR-240 also has 2% higher efficiency than the corresponding DRT-240 models. In addition, in order to be operated normally in frozen areas, they are equipped with low temperature power-on ability at -30°C, which is better than the DRT-240 at -20°C. Other standard functions include DC OK relay contact alarm signal output, front panel LED indicator, front panel DC voltage adjustment , as well as protection for short-circuit, overload, over voltage, and over temperature. WDR-240 series comply with UL/CB/CE certificates and also meet the EMC requirements of heavy industry immunity level (EN61000-6-2). Suitable applications include an industrial control system, semi-conductor fabrication equipment, factory automation, electro-mechanical applications, and marine related installation.
