Matsushita Offers New ECY Capacitors

New Products Nov 26, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Matsushita Electronic Components Co. Ltd. (Japan) introduced the new ECY MLCCs, which are optimized for stabilizing the power supply and rejecting noise in high-speed microprocessors. The new capacitors exhibit low equivalent series inductance and are employed as decoupling capacitors for high-speed microprocessors.

The capacitors come in 1220 and 1632 case sizes, with nominal capacitance values of 10nF, 0.1µF and 1µF, and ±10 percent tolerance. The devices are rated at voltages from 10Vdc to 50Vdc. Based on a 25 degrees C reference, these X5R devices exhibit a ±15 percent capacitance change over the operating temperature range spanning -55 to +85 degrees C.
