Matsushita Electric Announces New EEG TC and XC Series of Capacitors

July 25, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Matsushita Electric Ind. Co. Ltd. (Japan) announced the new EEG TC and XC Series of screw-terminal aluminum electrolytic capacitors. These devices are suitable for use in motor-control inverter units in hybrid cars and fuel cell vehicles.

The TC and XC devices withstand high ripple currents. Matsushita claims that the devices exhibit 40 percent more resistance than conventional models. The TC capacitors last 5,000 hours at 85 degrees C, while the XC models offer a service life of 5,000 hours at 105 degrees C.

The devices are offered with diameters ranging from 51mm to 64mm and lengths measuring 60mm to 125mm. Capacitance values for the TC devices range from 0.35mF to 2mF, and 0.27mF to 1.7mF for the XC capacitors. The rated working voltage is 400V or 450V.
