Magnetek Intros HP850 Front-End Power Supply

Magnetek Inc. (Chatsworth, CA), a leading manufacturer of power conditioners for commercial fuel cells, announced the release of its new HP850 Series front-end power supply, which measures 1.6 in x 5 in x 10 in, producing 10.63 W/in³ power density. An optional I2C interface with interrupt capability is available for system management and monitoring for highly-integrated error monitoring and analysis.

The new HP850 Series with standard rear-mount ac connection is designed to operate either as a stand-alone unit or as an integral part of a distributed power system in telecommunications networks, data storage systems, high-end servers, and medical and industrial products. The HP850 provides a single isolated output of up to 850 W total with outputs ranging from 12 V to 48 V, and 90-percent efficiency. The HP850 has a wide input ranging from 85 Vac to 264 Vac, and can handle frequencies from 47 Hz to 63 Hz. Harmonic performance is compliant with EN61000-3-2. Protection features include over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature.

Evaluation units of the new models are available in two weeks, with production quantities available eight weeks ARO. Pricing for the HP850 Series ranges about $540 in OEM quantities. Pricing for the HP850 rack is about $550 in OEM quantities.
