MagnaChip Releases Small & Medium AMOLED Driver IC Line-Up

MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd. released a medium-sized AMOLED driver IC, following its beginning of mass production of small- sized AMOLED display driver IC solutions earlier this year. The company states that it has focused on building leadership in AMOLED technology, which has been identified as a high potential technology for the display solutions market in light of the increasing demand for high resolution products.

MagnaChip has developed and mass produced an AMOLED driver IC for mobile phone applications, with high resolution and next generation interfaces, and WQVGA and Mobile Display Digital Interface (MDDI). Following this product, MagnaChip extended its product line-up to produce a medium-sized AMOLED driver chip for mobile handset applications, which are said to offer distinctive features such as the MDDI interface, smaller output offset variation, automatic brightness control and automatic current limitation.

MagnaChip expects to continue this product line expansion going forward, by adding large display drivers to its AMOLED offering. To support these efforts, the company has set-up a dedicated team for the development of small- to large-sized AMOLED driver IC products.
