LEM USA Intros AV 100 Series Voltage Transducers

August 12, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

LEM USA Inc. (Milwaukee, WI) introduced its new AV 100 Series of hall-effect-based voltage transducers for industrial and traction markets, which allows dc, ac, pulsed and complex voltage measurements with galvanic isolation between primary (high power) and secondary circuits (electronic circuit). The AV 100 Series is mainly used in traction applications, such as main and auxiliary converters, sub stations, and battery chargers.

The new transducers provide a large dynamic range, and allow wide bandwidth in a compact design covering voltage measurements from 50Vrms to 1,500Vrms nominal. Additionally, 50mA are supplied at the transducer's outputs as current output, when the nominal primary voltage is applied on the M5 threaded studs primary connections. A dual-fastening mode is provided for secondary connections, either 3 x M5 threaded studs for a strong connection, or 3 x faston (6.35mm x 0.8mm) for a quick installation.
