Laser Diode Drivers Feature Wide Range DC Inputs

New Products May 08, 2017 by Jeff Shepard

Lumina Power announced the release of the new dc-input versions of the popular LDD series laser diode drivers. These new models are an offshoot of the standard laser diode drivers modified to accept inputs from 90- to 350-Vdc depending upon model and output power. Housed in the same packages as the ac versions the new dc models feature the interface that Lumina Power pioneered in 2001 and is now the standard of the industry. Models are available from 100 to 3000 Watts.

"Lasers and pulsed power systems are traditionally electrically noisy environments," said Barry Essig, Lumina Power's VP of Sales and Marketing. "We are getting requests for DC input power supplies to aid in reducing the overall system noise making it easier to pass worldwide CE standards."

The LDD series high power laser diode driver is a new family of OEM laser diode driver designed for the emerging high power laser diode industry. The LDD series high power diode laser driver is designed for high power applications where economy is important and performance cannot be compromised. Compact size is possible due to the low-loss zero-voltage switching inverter and incorporation of planar magnetics. The LDD is virtually wire free.

The new dc-input series enhances Lumina Power's complete line of laser diode driver products from 10 watts through 18kW.
