Lambda Launches SCS120PW Series Power Supplies

New Products Aug 30, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Lambda Electronics Inc. (San Diego, CA) launched its new SCS120PW Series of single-output power supplies that can provide 120 W of convection-cooled power for applications where forced-air cooling is not available or fan noise cannot be tolerated, such as light industrial devices or data communications routers. Packaged in an industry-standard, 3 in x 5 in footprint, the supplies are 1.27 in high (including underside components), allowing it to be used in 1U enclosures.

The SCS120PW power supplies are available with 12 V to 24 V output voltages, and with output currents up to 10 A. The series accepts a wide range of input voltages "from 90 Vac to 264 Vac" and contains active power-factor correction circuitry to meet EN61000-3-2 standards. The SCS120PW Series power supplies operate in temperatures ranging from 0 °C to 40 °C, full load, and derate linearly to 50-percent load at 60 °C. All models carry the CE mark, conform to UL60950-1 and EN60950-1 standards, and meet Class B conducted EMI requirements.

The SCS120PW Series power supplies are available now, and are priced at $36 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
