Lambda Intros HWS Series Industrial Power Supplies

March 13, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Lambda Electronics Inc. (San Diego, CA) introduced its HWS Series of RoHS-compliant power supplies that offer a five-year warranty. The new single-output HWS Series is suitable for powering industrial equipment where high quality and long field-life is key for equipment reliability.

The units are available in five power levels of 15 W, 30 W, 50 W, 100 W and 150 W, with nominal output ranging from 3.3 V to 48 V. Each model can be adjusted up to ±20% of its nominal voltage to accommodate non-standard system voltages. The HWS Series accepts a wide range of input voltages (from 85 Vac to 265 Vac) and complies with both the SEMI F47 and EN61000-3-2 harmonic correction standards.

Five different mechanical configurations are offered, ranging from 1.04 in x 3.23 in x 3.15 in for the 15 W model to 1.46 in x 3.23 in x 6.3 in for the 150 W model. All models are 3.23 in high, making them suitable for 2U-rack mounting. The new power supplies meet Class B EMI standards – radiated and conducted – are CE marked and safety approved to UL508, UL60950, CSA60950, EN60950, EN50178 specifications. They also meet EN61000-4-X immunity standards.

The HWS Series will be available in April 2005, with prices starting at $42 in single-unit quantities.
