Lambda Expands Vega Series Power Supplies

Lambda Electronics Inc. (San Diego, CA) has expanded its successful Vega Series with the introduction of its new Vega Lite, a cost-effective modular power supply offering up to 900 W of output power. The Vega Lite addresses the growing popularity of modular-style power supplies for many low-volume to medium-volume applications, ranging from medical to test and measurement.

The new Vega Lite is available in both the Vega 550, rated at 550 W with an input voltage of 115 Vac or 700 W at high line (>150 Vac); and the Vega 750, rated at 750 W at 115 Vac or 900 W at high line. The Vega Lite power supply has no minimum load requirement and offers one to 10 wide-range adjustable output voltages from 1.8 V to 56 V and output currents up to 60 A. The package measures 2.5 in x 5 in x 10.6 in and is self-cooled with an internal fan.

The Vega Lite also offers inhibit, module good, remote sense and parallel; typical efficiency is 75% at full load; and the supplies come complete with short-circuit and over-voltage protection. The Vega Lite models are CE marked in accordance with the Low Voltage Directive, and carry a host of environmental and safety agency approvals, including EN55022 Class B, UL60950-1, CSA22.2 No.60950-1, EN60950-1, IEC60950-1, EN61010-1, EN60601-1, and UL3101-1. Standard earth leakage current is 1.5 mA, or 300 µA for medical applications.

The Vega Lite power supplies are available now, with prices starting at $390 each for a quad-output configuration in 50-unit quantities.
