Lambda Announces Vega Series Power Supplies

New Products May 19, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Lambda (San Diego, CA) introduced its new 450W and 650W Vega Series of ac/dc modular power supplies, which utilize off-the-shelf modules and converters that can be assembled to meet custom output specifications, eliminating the need for high-cost, long lead time, custom power supplies.

The Vega Series features a low overall component count; a single PCB design in both the front-end converter and output module stages; a seamless output-voltage range from 1.8V to 62V; a maximum of 10 outputs with no minimum load requirements; over-voltage and over-current protection; 5V at 100mA, 5V at 300mA or 5V to 15V at 1A auxiliary output options; fast on-tab/screw input or output connections; IEC input connections; multiple cooling options; input filter ratings of 42µA; and a standard input-output isolation rating of 4,000Vac.

The new Vega Series is compliant to EN61000-3-2, IEC1000-4, and EMI Level B conducted and Level A radiated standards. The series also has CE Marking, UL 1950, CSA22.2 No.950, UL3101-1, UL2601-1 and EN60950 worldwide safety agency approvals.

The Vega Series is priced at $0.80/W when purchased in OEM quantities.
