New Products Aug 21, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Lambda Electronics Inc. (San Diego, CA) announced its new ZP Series of power supplies in the industry-standard, 2 in x 4 in format, which are suitable for use in a wide variety of applications, including data communications, LED signage, point-of-sale displays, and test-and-measurement equipment. Rated for operation from 0 °C to 70 °C ambient, the ZP models derate linearly to between 25 percent and 50 percent load at 70 °C. The units can be operated with either convection or forced-air cooling.

Units are available in three different output configurations. A 20 W to 60 W single-output version includes all the popular voltages from 3.3 V to 48 V, and 30 W to 50 W dual-output and triple-output versions provide a choice of output combinations and polarities. Typical efficiency for the 48 V models is 88 percent. All three configurations accept a broad range of input voltages, from 90 Vac to 264 Vac, 47 Hz to 440 Hz, or 120 Vdc to 370 Vdc.

The ZP Series power supplies meet EN61000-4-X immunity and Class B EMI standards. They are also safety approved to UL60950, CSA60950, and EN60950 specifications, and are CE marked. RoHS-compliancy is expected by December. The ZP Series is available now, with prices starting at $18 each in OEM quantities.
