Lambda Adds DHP480 Series DIN Rail Power Supplies

July 13, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Lambda Electronics Inc. (San Diego, CA) introduced two 480 W DIN rail-mount power supplies available with a choice of single-phase or three-phase inputs. The mid-power DHP480 Series is designed for industrial applications such as process control, factory automation, and automotive manufacture. The new power supplies are rated at 24 V at 20 A, and feature a low ripple and noise performance of less than 50 mV. The output is user-adjustable from 21.6 V to 28 V. Other standard features include a 30-second, 150% peak-current capability; output status lights; a remote on/off input; and an under-voltage alarm relay.

The DHP480-24-1 model accepts a wide single-phase input range of 85 Vac to 264 Vac and the DHP480-24-3 model accepts a three-phase input of 340 Vac to 575 Vac, eliminating the need for pre-selecting the ac input range prior to shipping. Both models are approved to UL508, UL60950, and EN60950 specifications. The units are convection-cooled and can operate at full power over a wide temperature range of -10 °C to +60 °C, derating linearly at 5% per degree above 60 °C to 70 °C. The supplies measure 4.92 in x 5.51 in x 5.34 in.

The DHP480 Series is available now, with prices starting at $300 in single-unit quantities.
