IRC Unveils TFP Series TO-220 Power Resistors

The IRC Advanced Film Division TT electronics plc (Munich, Germany) introduced a TO220-style power resistor using a reliable, economical, copper thick film. Designated the TFP Series, the resistors feature non-inductive performance and low thermal resistance, making them suitable for a variety of industrial applications where cost-effective performance and reliability are paramount.

Typical applications for the TFP Series include power supplies, industrial controls, automotive and inrush/bleeder resistors.

The TFP Series resistors offer resistance ranges from 0.010 ohm to 1 kiloohm with tolerances to ±1 percent, and TCRs at 0.1 to 1 kiloohm that are ±100ppm/°C. The resistors are rated for 20W at 25°C case temperatures and thermal resistance is 8.0°C/W. Operating temperatures range from -55°C to +150°C.
