IRC Intros Chromaxx Series Silicon-Oxide Resistors

February 03, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

IRC Inc. (Corpus Christi, TX) introduced its Chromaxx™ Series of thin-film, chromium silicon-oxide resistors with resistance values up to 15 Mohms for medical and instrumentation applications. The resistors are suitable for high-value voltage dividers, chips, and networks for high-input impedance instrumentation designs and medical implantables.

The Chromaxx technology produces resistive elements with sheet resistance of 1,000 ohms per square and tolerances to ±1 percent. Absolute temperature coefficients of resistance are available to ±50 ppm/°C with resistance values up to 15 Mohms in the 2512 package. The operating temperature range is from -65 °C to +150 °C.

The Chromaxx Series resistors are available in wire bondable chips, SOT, SIPS and SON packages, plus two-resistor divider chips and EIA chip sizes, including 0603, 0805, 1206, 1505, 2010 and 2510. Pricing for the Chromaxx Series resistors is $0.99 in volumes greater than 10,000, with lead times from stock to 12 weeks.
