IR Presents New 70CRU02 Ultrafast Diodes

International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) announced the 70CRU02, a 70A, 200V ultrafast diode with a 175-degrees C operating temperature rating. The new device is designed for high-frequency switching and output rectifier applications such as welding, switch-mode power supply and power conversion.

Dr. Francesco Vallone, IR product marketing manager, said, "The 70CRU02 is designed to exceed performance and reliability expectations in harsh environments."

Switching characteristics are optimized for high-frequency applications. For example, the new ultrafast diode has a reverse recovery time of 26ms at full-rated current. Output diodes with fast recovery speeds contribute to power supply efficiency, and reduce the physical size, weight and cost of power supply circuits. In addition, the snubber circuits in most applications can be minimized or eliminated, allowing manufacturers to reduce parts count, space requirements and cost in their products.

The new 70CRU02 ultrafast diodes are now available. Pricing is $1.03 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
