HiTek Power Debuts MHX Series Power Supplies

November 06, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

HiTek Power Corp. (Santee, CA) introduced the MHX family of modular, high-voltage power supplies for use in systems powered by 24Vdc supplies. Measuring 10in x 3.9in x 5.9in (253mm x 99mm x 150mm), the compact modules are suitable for X-ray equipment as well as applications such as insulation and materials testing, and electron and ion beam acceleration.

The MHX Series includes a 100W unit providing 1.67mA at up to 60kV, and an 80W unit providing 1mA at up to 80kV. The voltage load regulation is more than 500ppm for both models, and the maximum peak-to-peak ripple is less than 30V for the 60kV supply, and only 80V for the 80kV unit. Current load regulation is better than 0.1% for 10% to full load, while line regulation is better than 150ppm for a 22V to 26V change in input voltage at rated output power. The units are protected against flashover and continuous short circuit.

The power supplies are CE marked and meet all other international safety and emission specifications. The MHX Series modules come with a one-year warranty and are priced, in production quantities, at $1,625 for the 100W unit (MHX-603) and $1,975 for the 80W unit (MHX-803). Availability is stock to eight weeks.
