High-current Shielded Power Inductors Offered in Low-DCR and High-Isat Versions

The new SER80xx series high-current shielded power inductors from Coilcraft, Inc. are offered in two versions — one providing exceptionally low dc resistance (DCR) and the other offering saturation current ratings up to 53A, making them well suited for a broad range of applications. SER80xxDesigned for applications with high average current (up to 13A rms), the low DCR version is available with eight inductance values from 0.50 uH to 10.0 uH, with max DCR as low as 2.50 mOhms.

The high Isat version offers saturation current ratings up to 53A, designed for high peak current applications. It too is offered in eight inductance values ranging from 0.20 uH to 4.0 uH. SER80xx inductors are suitable for distributed dc power systems, graphics cards, high brightness LED drivers, servers and networking equipment. Both versions are RoHS compliant and 260°C compatible. They have a 8.8mm x 8.5mm footprint and feature a third terminal for stable board mounting. Pricing for the SER80xx Series is $0.73 at 1,000 pieces.
