GNB Industrial Power Intros S12V285 UPS Battery Product

GNB Industrial Power (Lombard, IL), the Network Power Business Group of Exide Technologies (Princeton, NJ), launched production of its new Sprinter S12V285, a 12V monobloc battery with a capacity of 285W per cell. The battery was developed for the segment of the UPS market that provides products for medium and large power systems.

The sealed, valve-regulated, stationary battery, designed to protect critical computer networks from data loss resulting from utility power failures, offers power in a standard footprint, reliability in high heat conditions and provides cost savings from reduced installation and maintenance requirements. The Sprinter S12V285 battery also may be used to provide emergency power for essential industrial operations.

The new monobloc model offers delivery of up to eight percent more power than competitive models within a standard industry footprint; a patented, reinforced "diamond side wall" design as part of the battery's plastic container that ensures structural integrity in higher operating temperatures; and a sealed, non-spillable technology that helps end users save money by eliminating quarterly water-addition maintenance and bypassing special room-ventilation requirements.
