GE Delivers Matched AC and DC Power Supply Pair Optimized for OEMs

July 22, 2013 by Jeff Shepard

GE’s Critical Power business today introduced its new matched pair of universal ac-input and dc-input (-40Vdc to -72Vdc)power supplies. Created for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the CP2500AC54TEZ 48V rectifier and CP2500DC54PEZ 48V converter enable OEMs to provide 80kW of high-efficiency power to data center servers, as well as core network switches and routers. In addition, this matching ac and dc power supply pair provides a common communication link that further simplifies the designer’s router and switch power options.

Key features and benefits of the CP2500AC54TEZ 48-volt rectifier and CP2500DC54PEZ 48-volt converter include: Offers OEM equipment designers a common ac or dc power option for true, plug-and-go power supply maintenance. No change to the power level or dimensions regardless of the ac or dc power source. Converter and rectifier fit four across in a standard 19-inch rack. High-density, front-to-back airflow is designed for minimal space utilization and is expandable for future growth. Input and output overvoltage, undervoltage and overload protection are included with both products.

The flexible CP2500AC54TEZ 48V rectifier comes in a single rack unit (RU) form factor with 28W per cubic inch (W/in3) and programmable output voltage from 42 to 58 Vdc. The CP2500DC54PEZ 48V converter also comes in a single RU form factor with 28 W/in3 and programmable output voltage from 44 to 58 Vdc. These power supplies include Dual I²C & RS485 interfaces, active load sharing, remote on/off and sense functions.

The CP2500AC54TEZ 48V rectifier and CP2500DC54PEZ 48V converter products are currently both available through distribution channels. AC pricing begins at $500 for 100 pieces, while DC pricing starts at $662 for 100 pieces.
