Fairchild Semiconductor Announces Packaged Pairs of Stealth Diodes
Fairchild Semiconductor (San Jose, CA) announced the availability of packaged pairs of Stealth soft-recovery diodes. Fairchild claims that Stealth diode technology combines high-speed and soft-recovery characteristics to achieve higher efficiency and lower electromagnetic interference.
Stealth diodes can be used as a boost diode in PFC circuits, and as a free-wheeling diode in UPSs, motor drives and SMPS. Forward current ratings of 8 x 2A, 15 x 2A or 30 x 2A with common cathode connection are available in TO-220A and TO-247 packages. The diodes have a maximum junction temperature of 175 degrees C.
Pricing for the diodes ranges starts at $0.70 for the ISL9K460P3, packaged in TO-220A, in 1,000-piece quantities. The ISL9K860P3, also packaged in TO-220A, is $1.11 in the same quantities. The TO-247-packaged ISL9K1560G3 is $1.81 in 1,000-piece quantities. The ISL9K3060G3, also packaged in TO-247, runs $2.39 in the same quantities. Samples and production quantities are available now, with delivery in eight weeks ARO.
