Excelsys Introduces New 400 & 600 Watt Modular Power Supplies

New Products Dec 19, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

Excelsys Technologies Ltd. introduced the Xhite series of modular power supplies offer full load operation up to 70°C making it well-suited for use in harsh environment applications with high ambient temperatures and wide temperature fluctuations.

The Xhite series consists of 2 PowerPac Chassis, with ratings of 400 or 600W and a complete family of field-configurable plug-in dc output modules. The PowerPacs feature universal input (85 to 264Vac) with plug-in modules offering user-defined output voltages ranging from 1.5 to 58Vdc (single & dual output modules). All configurations are RoHS Compliant, approved to UL60950/EN60950 and are EN55022/FCC level B rated for conducted and radiated emissions.

The Xhite series employs a two-transistor forward converter front-end and zero voltage resonant switching with plug-in dc output modules that employ planar magnetics, surface mount components and high efficiency dc-dc conversion techniques. The high efficiency design combined with advanced thermal management techniques enables full output power in ambient temperatures of 70°C. All of this is packaged in an extremely compact 9.85 x 5.00 x 1.57" form factor. The dc outputs are floating with no minimum load requirements, ±0.1% line regulation, and load regulation of ±0.2%. Outputs can be connected in series or parallel for increased power and feature comprehensive protection against over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature conditions.

Standard signal options include Mains Power Fail, Global Inhibit/Enable, 5V Standby, output power good, Output Inhibit/Enable, Remote Sense and Remote Adjust.

The Xhite products are now available and in full production.
