Eaton Intros Powerware Rackmount Power Distribution Unit

Eaton Corp. (Cleveland, OH), a manufacturer of electrical systems and components for power quality in automotive systems, introduced its new Powerware Rackmount Power Distribution Unit (PDU), which is a complete rack-mount solution that offers a single source for both power protection and power distribution. Featuring standard power spike and power surge protection, the new Powerware PDU was created to complement uninterruptible power system (UPS) solutions, delivering power protection and distribution options for rack-mount UPS environments.

With standard rack cabinets and flexible mounting options, the Powerware PDU reserves rack and floor space for critical computing hardware. Covered by a two-year limited warranty, the Powerware single-input PDU is available in both high-voltage and low-voltage models. The new Powerware PDU provides line-to-line and line-to-ground protection for connected equipment. Additionally, individual circuit breakers protect outlet groups, or load segments, increasing the overall availability by ensuring that an overloaded circuit will not affect other load segments.

The new PDU includes several value-added features such as compliance with applicable industry standards for IT equipment safety, visual indicators of available input power, a 12 ft power cord, and the unit ships with everything required for all mounting options. Additionally, the Powerware Rackmount PDU is not specific to one UPS product family, or even one UPS manufacturer; it works with UPSs from several vendors, making it suitable for the typical multi-vendor environment.
