Dranetz-BMI Intros Hand-Held Power Monitor Devices

November 03, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Dranetz-BMI (Edison, NJ) introduced three new hand-held power monitoring instruments to the worldwide market. All three products incorporate a color touch screen, “super smart” automatic setups, and an enunciator “report card” that instantly characterizes power quality events. Each instrument meets IEEE 1159 and EN50160 standards, and complies with the new IEC 61000-4-30 Class A standards. All three products collect data at 256 samples/cycle/channel, are translated into six languages, and use DRAN-VIEW software.

Equipped with eight independent channels, the three-phase PowerGuide 4400 advanced power monitoring instrument incorporates a color touch screen into its lightweight design. The PowerGuide collects data at 256 samples/cycle/channel for both voltage and current and offers remote communications using RS-232, Ethernet or USB options. The PowerXplorer PX5 delivers high-speed sampling and data capture (1µsec/channel), and simultaneously captures and characterizes hundreds of parameters, including IEEE 1459 for non-sinusoidal and unbalanced systems, using a range of standard and customizable operating modes.

The three-phase, eight-channel PowerXplorer PX5-400 provides the full range of advanced monitoring and measurement for 400Hz applications as well as 50Hz/60Hz. Designed specifically for military, shipboard, aerospace and other 400Hz applications, the PowerXplorer PX5-400 contains the same advanced feature set as the PowerXplorer PX5, including advanced data characterization, cross-triggering, and the measurement of distortion parameters.
