The new GPS65 open-frame switching power supply from Digital Power Corp. (Fremont, CA) is claimed to set a new price/performance standard for the OEM power supply industry. The triple-output 65W switcher is priced at $34 in 100 quantities, and considerably lower for higher quantities. It is designed for use in networking, computer peripheral, modems and other communication equipment. The GPS65 is available in the industry standard 3" x 5" footprint with single, dual or triple outlets and many popular voltage combinations. The product is available as an open frame switcher, with an "L" or "U" bracket with perforated cover. It also is offered as a desktop adapter in a plastic enclosure with integral IEC connector and on/off switch. In addition, Digital Power can add a custom input or output wire harness.Universal input allows the supply to operate from 115 to 230Vac. It has been approved to UL1950 and EN60950 international safety standards. In addition, it meets FCC class B and CISPR 22B conducted emissions and conforms to EN61000-4 immunity requirements. It carries the CE mark (LVD) for sale into European countries. The GPS65 will deliver 65W output power with fan cooling or 40W with natural convection cooling, giving it a higher watts-per-cubic inch power density than ordinary 3" x 5" open frame switchers that are typically rated at 40W to 50W.Many standard GPS65 models are available from stock. Modified standard model samples are available in 2-3 weeks and production units with full agency approvals in 4-6 weeks.
