Delta Announces New NH Plus Series of Uninterruptible Power Supply

New Products Dec 14, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Delta Electronics Inc. announced the new generation of its medium to high power flagship uninterruptible power supply (UPS) product – NH Plus series. According to the company, the new series is designed with efficiency at the forefront, resulting in significant electricity savings for the end user. The NH Plus series is also designed with a scale-as-you-grow and space-saving modular structure, minimizing initial equipment investments. According to the company, with its high efficiency and modular structure, the NH Plus series delivers remarkably low total cost of ownership in terms of both capital expenses and operation expenses.

The NH Plus series maintains 94% efficiency even under 40% loading conditions, where most products currently on the market can not compete. According to Delta, due to its extreme power efficiency, the NH Plus series can save customers significantly in electricity bill and carbon footprint compared to traditional UPS with power efficiency of 88%.

Another remarkable cost reduction feature of the series is its modular structure with hot-swappable feature. Each power module delivers 20kVA high power density in a 3U height chassis. Total power options include 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120kVA in two different cabinet styles. According to Delta, with this modular design, the NH Plus series allows IT managers to protect their data center facilities from power fluctuations in a flexible and scalable way, resulting in lower initial acquisition costs. Furthermore, the design will also render minimized mean time to repair (MTTR) and thus increase system availability and uptime greatly to six 9’s. According to Delta, the NH Plus series ensures high reliability through N+X power module redundancy which saves space required for at least 50% compared with traditional 1+1 system redundancy.

"Growing environmental concerns and limited resources are affecting everyone, and companies in every industry are taking steps to decrease electricity costs. Delta has designed the NH Plus series UPS to assist customers in reducing waste and conserving energy, as well as reducing the cost of running their business," said Dr. Charles Tsai, General Manger, Renewable Energy and UPS Business Unit, Delta Electronics, Inc.

"The new NH Plus series evolved from its predecessor, the NH series, in which Delta fulfilled customers’ increasing demands for transformer-less UPS for higher efficiency and smaller space required. Delta continuously devotes extensive R&D resources to advanced UPS technologies with the vision of ensuring customers’ business continuity with very competitive cost performance."
